incorrect sorting ouside of fences

For icons outside of fences, the desktop sorting function is stuck on "none." Also, they seem to be stuck on "auto arrange," that is, even if I uncheck auto arrange, it defaults back to auto arrange.

Hello,
Sorry to hear you are having issues. Need to know more on your system.

  1. Windows version. You can use Winver.exe to get full Windows version numbers.
  2. Fences version.

From what I observed, when you set your desktop icons to sort to something other than "none". The "Auto Arrange" will always activate. This make sense so that when you have your icons sorted it will always be arrange properly. If you wish that "auto arrange" stay off you will need to make it sort to none and do the sort manually. I can see similar behavior when Fences is not installed in the system.

Thank you,

That is not what is happening. Even if Auto Arrange is checked. Sorting is stuck on "none." If I try to sort on "name" the icons jiggle, but do not change and the sort is stuck on "none." If I try to sort on "kind" the icons jiggle, but do not change and the sort is stuck on "none." All icons outside of fences are stuck on sorting to "none."
