Fences has detected that explorer was not closed properly

I have already sent the log text to support but was directed here - I can find no solutions in this forum to this problem that can be understood by anyone who is not a software engineer.  I have already sent you an error log.  Please resolve this.

Hello,
Sorry to hear you are having issues. Need to know more on your system and issues.

  1. Windows version, please use Winver.exe for full Windows version numbers.
  2. Have you tried the purge and reinstall steps as mention here https://forums.stardock.com/486084/fences-support-faq#reinstalling.  Just make sure to re-download the V3.12 Beta from your account again. Reboot after the purged. Reinstall, and Reboot again after the installation. Retest it. Report back here.
  3. If it still the same issue, we need to know if the issue only happen when minimizing Chrome? Does it happen with any other application or any other browsers?

We really appreciate your feedback and patience.

Thank

Due to security protocols we cannot run this file on our system. Any other suggestions please?

  1. Still need information on your Windows full version numbers.
  2. You will need to change your security setting to allow the purge to be done.

Thank you,

I'm having this problem with 3.13.  Had to downgrade to 3.09 to resolve it.  Tried the purge uninstall application and no luck.

Same problem, Fences won't enable. Uninstalled, cleaned windows 10, reinstalled, re-authorized, worked fine, but just once, until reboot! after which same problem...

Is this the same problem as from the first 3.10 release?  Is it getting better?  I'm stuck on 3.0.9.11 until this gets sorted.  I'd be happy to provide desktop environment information if I can be told how to collect it.

I don't have a local copy of 3.0.9.11 and can't find archives on the website. Where can I download that version? Thanks!

Please try again purge and reinstall steps as mentioned here: [link]. Just make sure to redownload the latest version from your account. Reboot after the purged. Reinstall, and Reboot again immediately after the installation. Retest it. Report back here.

Given how they tried pushing everyone away from 3.09, and then they wouldn't put it back up for a while when fences 3.10 released as a broken mess, I would guess there's some copyright issue, or an overlap with another product.  Not sure how else you could justify pushing out a buggy mess then making it hard to downgrade.  The beta forums were full of these complaints for MONTHS before release.

Before they incremented to 3.11 they had put up a modified version of 3.09 with some animation feature removed for some reason.

I have a setup file in my downloads from around mid September.  It has no version number though.

Same problem here with Windows 10, and now Windows 11; just bought Fences 4. Normal laptop without any of those apps in other posts.

Unisntall + purge + reinstall: NO, solve the Fences problem. Please.
