Saved App Group not opening as a group

I group all of my messaging apps together - WhatsApp, Signal, Telegram, Slack & Microsoft Your Phone.  I have saved this group.

When I go to open the group again Slack and Telegram do not open as part of the group.  I have made sure that Slack and Telegram are not already running or in the system tray.

Windows 10 Pro Version 10.0.19042 Build 19042

Groupy 1.49.1 registered version.

Any idea how I can fix this?

I did some more fiddling with it and it doesn't group if the telegram 'Show tray icon' option is checked

Similarly for slack if 'Leave app running in notification area when the window is closed' is checked then it will not group:

So I do have it working now, but the solution is not ideal as I would like to have the tray icons for both apps.

I'd argue that this is a bug that needs fixing.  Where should it be reported?

It's not a bug per se`, as those options essentially have the app running, the requirement needed you discussed initially.

I have made sure that Slack and Telegram are not already running or in the system tray.

Hi Sean,

But at the point I open the Groupy saved group they are not running, they don't exist in the system tray, and I can see in Task Manager that the processes for those apps are not running.

All those settings do is add the icon to the system tray, and leave it running there once the main app window is closed.  But that only happens after the app is initially opened, which hasn't happened at the point that the Groupy group is initialised.

So I still think this is a bug.

If they are there, some part of them is running. Again, you said it yourself, if those are not checked (not running), it works, yes?

If true, then something is running with them there.

That's annoying then.  Is there any way around this?

Not currently but there has been some discussion on how to handle already open apps, especially browsers.

Try uninstalling and reinstalling the applications. This method has always helped me. Lately, all messengers have been unstable. More and more often, I began to notice some bugs and shortcomings.

More items I use are open in the system tray and I have no problems. I might mention I do not have Slack and Telegram to experiment with.

My point is the system tray does not appear to have any adverse effects on Groupy, at least for me.

More should be Most. Since I can not edit my post I had to do it this way, correct of More to Most.

It would follow then that the systray exe is not the same as the running app itself.
