With the Start10 1.9.7.0 release, we are creating this thread so that users can report any observed issues.

Reporting an issue

Please include the following for anything found:

  • Exact Windows version \ build (winver.exe)
  • Detailed steps to recreate the issue seen
  • Screenshots and videos are very helpful.  Videos can be uploaded to a cloud drive services (GoogleDrive, DropBox, OneDrive, YouTube) and links included in your post.  Images can be directly added.
  • If there are specific apps that Groupy does not work (well) with, please note what apps and their exact versions.  If any app is not common, a link to a trial version would be appreciated.

Start10 1.9.7.0 Changelog

  • Fix to work around a problem with start buttons having buttons go under them and potentially being made much less wide with that MS patch to add in the News and Weather link on the taskbar when that setting is set to be hidden.

Sorry on mobile, but on latest Windows build 21H1.

When doing a hard shutdown shift/shut down. The desktop icons disappear, but Windows/PC doesn't shut down. I need to do the same procedure again, for it to do it.

Obviously start10 is not made for Windows11. But since there is no start11 yet and Windows11 is more or less an update:

Transparency seems to work, but only temporary. Breaks after a minute or two.
Start Button and menu Customization is completly broken (sadly, win11 menu is not my preferred).

When displaying Favorites as a Menu (right hand side shortcuts), old Internet Explorer favorites are displayed even though the the Advanced setting to Use Microsoft Edge favorites is selected.  As a result, when Edge favorites change, the changes are not reflected by Start10.

As a Windows tester, I was just upgraded to Windows 11, version 22000.100, causing problems with Start10 1.9.7.  If I click on the Windows menu, then right click it, I can usually retrieve the Start10 menu that I am accustomed to and like. Is there a way to make it less difficult to get the Start10 menu?

In Start11 Public Beta Issue Report Thread I noticed a reference to a double scaling issues:

"There are some double scaling issues with the shutdown button margins. End result is at high DPIs, the right-hand side is considerably larger. The higher the dpi, the more obvious the issue would be.  There is an internal fix for it that will be included in the next release."

This happens to Start10 1.97 as well.

We can expect a fix to solve this issue in Start10?
