Steam vs. Direct

versions

Hi, I recently got a refund on my steam purchase for KVM.  I paid 39$ but it seemed I could only add 1 computer at a time (KM).  Perhaps the Steam 39$ purchase is KM.  I doubt that because Steam also has the 19$ version, which I believe is KM.

I think you may want to review the system to make sure the versions are correct on Steam.

Perhaps I'm wrong about my assessment.  What happened is I tried to add a 2nd secondary computer to my primary list but it said only 1 computer could be added at a time.  That told me, even though I paid 39$, I was actually using KM.

So maybe I'm confused of the difference between KM or KVM or maybe Steams version are incorrect???

Bummer, I liked having it ready to install via steam.

Thanks,

Auggy

I believe they answered me.  It seems only 1 computer can be added to the list in the kvm section.  The seamless panel can have up to nine.  I don't care for that.  We should be able to add 9 computers to the list while only being able to control 1 in kvm non-seamleas. Why make us delete it and re-add?

Hello,

Sorry to hear you are having trouble.

Youn can control 9 Seamless computers (1 Primary and 8 Secondaries) but only 1 remote KVM Secondary PC.

KVM Pro, not sold on Steam, would allow 8 for both Seamless and remote KVM connections.

Thank you Sean.  But adding computers to the list in the kvm section doesn't mean you have to connect to them.  Can't Stardock let us add them so we dont have to add and delete over and over.  Even if I put 9 in, Stardock could still limit the use to one at a time.

Sean is there an address to submit suggestions?  Maybe Pro version already has this, but an option to - START MULTIPLICTY ON THIS MACHINE IN SECONDARY WHEN WINDOWS STARTS.

Other wise, we're forced to boot the primary machine, turn it to secondary before another can become primary.

That a PC is a Primary or Secondary can be controlled with a registry key:

https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/11ImVYKjvKClw7eH6Fi_Sk9hUPnR4pJSAsVcgUFXon-A/edit?usp=sharing

[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Wow6432Node\Stardock\Multiplicity2\MP\MP]

That will not, however, deactivate the (what was the) Primary.  That can be done with this:
