Stardock software and Windows Explorer on Windows 10

Are there any known issues with Stardock software and Windows Explorer on W10? I have situations where my task bar will disappear, windows won't work correctly, etc--all things which get fixed by windows explorer restarts (if it shows up.)

I ran this system with Fences for a while and never had an issue. Only since adding on Groupy and Curtains around the same time did this start occuring.

Any thoughts or pointers appreciated.

Hello,
Sorry to hear you are having issues. That is most probably Windows Explorer hang issue.Need more information on your system and issue.

  1. Windows version, please use Winver.exe to get full Windows version numbers.
  2. Is the issue happened on specific specific style/theme?
  3. Is the issue happened while you have groupy grouping specific programs?
  4. Does the explorer hang happen at any reproduce-able step? If yes, please list it so we can try to reproduce it.

Thanks

1. Version: W10

2. Unmodified Cairo Green-Blue. Haven't tried others. Will, try that.

3. While I have Groupy running, I generally don't have anything grouped.

4. It's not reproduceable, that I've found, and it's not fast. Just after a few days Windows Explorere will just break. Sometimes I can restart it from task manager; sometimes it doesn't show up and I have to reboot. (I don't *think* I've seen it fail when I was actively using it, so may be sleep related, backup related,

In addition to that, I'm running two physical windows, and from Stardock I'm running CursorFX (Fluent), Curtains, Fences and Groupy. No other O/S mods other than a server connector...non-domain.)

Please elaborate on this one.

Not sure what is happening on your system. Can you verify if Curtains or Groupy is causing issues. Once you have that, you can try purge and reinstall steps as mentioned here:

Curtains : https://forums.stardock.com/500728/curtains-support-faq#CurtainsPurge

or

Groupy : https://forums.stardock.com/488142/groupy-support-faq#reinstalling

Just make sure to re-download the latest version from your account. Reboot after the purged. Reinstall, and Reboot again after the installation. Retest it. Report back here.

Thank you,
