Fences not playing well with Displaylink connection

Hi,

I am using Fences with Display Link. Most of the time I am connected with in total 3 screens - of which 1st is the laptop screen (1920x1080).
I designated one of the attached screens as my main screen (1920x1200). There I have configured my Fences the way I want it, which is rolled up on the edge of the top and bottom of the screen.

However I do drag the laptop out to other places and have it NOT connected to the Displaylink box. And that is when the Fences throw my bottom line up all over my screen. I tried this with "Store my Fences' positions on a per-screen-resolution basis", and I also attempted locking the Fences. It just does not want to maintain the setup I made.

Any ideas on what else I could try?
