I last played OTC in August 2018 and took a break. I wanted to play some more in December 2020 but the game crashed on launch. I re-installed it and same thing.
Press Play on Steam -> Stardock launcher starts. Select OTC and press Play -> "Oops! The game crashed. The crash report folder named "2021-01-11_172502" next to the game executable. It would be great if you'd send it to the developer of the game!"
Logs are below, please help.

If you are using a remote working platform such as citric, you will need to uninstall it.
It's started crashing for me as well recently. I played it all through the winter sale for a few days, great game by the way. But now it crashes regardless of what hard drive I install it on. I've tried verifying files multiple times, etc. I see other people stating Citrix could be the cause, unfortunately I DO use that for my job, so cannot uninstall it. Is there a workaround ?
Same, I am using Citrix for work and cannot uninstall it. Did anyone from Mohawk Games / Stardock look at this?
I have the same problem, any solution?
Not sure how this solved it, but this fixed it for me:
1. Uninstall Citrix Workspace App
2. Install Offworld Trading Company
3. Re-Install Citrix Workspace App
(with PC reboots between each step)
And now they both work!
