Windowblinds screen keeps popping up! Help me Lord Jesus!!

How do you get that annoying windowblinds registration screen from popping up. Everytime I re-boot my computer and almost every day it pops up when I'm in the middle of something important! I had to finally unload windowblinds when I was going something over with a client and that WB registration screen popped up. I have 2 firewalls (windows and Norton) on my computer with a popup blocker and it still comes up. It was really embarassing for me when I was trying to do business and have that annoying thing come up. It's a good way to lose potential clients and I can't afford to lose them. >

StyleXP isn't a 'program'...it's an unauthorized dll hack that enables the use of simplistic unsigned veriations of the default Window GUI look...nothing more.

Check my profiele picture, Made this for a customer in styleXP (please dont bann me, I really did try to make him order WB for his hole company )

oh, and liteSTEP, thats a program?

Style....yes, like I said...variation of the default...

This shot shows one of mine....very odd shape...buttons on left and roll-up in use......all stuff that defeats styleXP's capabilities.

And yes, LiteSTEP IS a program....it's Litestep.exe and has specific dll's to function with it....just like any 'decent' shell would...

But there is also this program called styleXP, you can hack the .dll file, witch is for free, but you can also get a freeware version of styleXP witch is pretty much simulair to windowblinds, the futures are a bit diffrend (WB skins the shutdown popup, and styleXP skins the IE bars etc,)

Styl, you don't understand. The "program" StyleXP is actually more like WinStyles. It is simply an interface that lets you apply msstyles skins, shellstyles, and wallpaper all at once. It doesn't actually skin anything though. That is all handled by the hacked msstyles .dll. WindowBlinds, on the other hand, actually handles all the skinning on its own.

Also, there is no freeware version of StyleXP. You can get the hacked .dll alone for free, but the "program" is shareware, which expires and becomes non-functional after a given period of time.

could be, I have 'patched' the uxtheme.dll (or something)
Working great at the time, when the theme I am working on at the moment is done I will try to get permissions to port it to WB and put it up for download.

BTW: do I need that 'permissions' as I am still the official owner for it?

That's between you and your client.

Download.com's description of StyleXP says it all about the "program": "Patch Windows XP to use unsigned visual styles."

Let me guess, you have to install Windows XP once a month because of the annoying activation bug which keeps popping up...

Kona knows ways around that... activate it once and thats it! Unless Oil has a pirated XP...hmmmmmm

Even with a pirated version of XP, the activation security that MS has can be hacked. I know personally. No, I don't have a pirated version of XP because it came with my computer, but a neighbor of mine has and there is a way around the activation and still be able to have the service pack installed. I don't want to get into it because it's illegal, but yes - Windows XP is very easy to man handle. It too has a number of flaws

Windows has flaws?  It just can not be!
