Can't unninstall even after purging

from Stardock Forums

I was using the trial version, when I formatted my computer. Since it wasn't in the drive I formatted the file remained, now I'm trying to unninstall it. I already tried to purge it and disable fences for default users, but it didn't work, after I click "OK" it just comes back and when I try to unninstall it says "Inalid start mode: archive filename". Is there anything else I can try?

EDIT: The Fences.exe files is gone, but my desktop has no files in it and I still can't remove the files in the folder.

Hello,
Sorry to hear you are having issues. Need more information on your system.

1) Windows version. Please use Winver.exe for full version numbers.

2) Fences version.

3) Where did your install Fences? System drive or other drive?

4) Have you tried steps mentioned in this link? : https://forums.stardock.com/486084/fences-support-faq#reinstalling

Fences version-3.0.9.11

Wasn't installed on system drive

I tried "Disable Fences on a per user basis" and "Purging and re-installing"

I managed to get the Fences.exe back, and it's working 100%. I just can't remove it, I want to move it to my system drive (SSD).

Hello,

Sorry to hear you are having trouble.

Disable Fences from the Startup:

Reboot.

Remove it where it exists.

While I still wasn't able to unninstal after disabling it there where only a few .dll files that wouldn't be deleted manually, so I used Start Unlocker (I tried it before, didn't work) to terminate processess that wouldn't let me delete the files. This time it worked.

Thanks for your help. Your programs are great, and I'll definitely buy Fences, I just have to be more careful haha.
