Prevent Groupy from grouping non-related applications?

Hi,

I'm trying to find a setting to prevent groupy from grouping applications that are not related.  It really irritates me.  I might want to group all my CMD terminal windows, but I don't want it to automatically group the spreadsheet I have open underneath it the instant I place the terminal over it.

I saw something about a shift-group setting in another thread, but I'm not seeing this in the application settings (the thread is 3 years old...)

Is there some way to make Groupy less sensitive, or prevent it from grouping programs that aren't instances of the same program?

If there's no solution for this, I'm definitely going to have to uninstall it.

Thanks

Hi,

I appreciate the screenshot, it looks like I thought "settings" was just a title, and not a menu full of options

I'm running Groupy v1.32 on Windows 2004

I've added only grouping same applications and chrome + vscode to the block list (the ones that irritate me the most when they're resized to something I'm trying to place over them/them over)

Let's see how this goes.  At least I have more to work, I feel pretty confident this will be a lot less irritating now.

Thanks :D

Glad to help. Unfortunately, there is not a user guide for Groupy, so you have to spend a little time playing with the settings until you get it the way you like to use it. I have been using it for about two years now and it has evolved into a really great tool. I'm using the Beta 1.39 version on 20H2 and it runs perfectly.

Does anyone know a way to stop control panel from opening up in a group?

I put c:\windows\system32\control.exe  in the exclusion list and it still opens up in the group with my explorer windows

Actually this is a different question so I'm going to start a new thread...
