Hide cursor after some sec.

Hello all,

As a former CursorXP user, I really liked the option to hide the cursor after a certain time in seconds (10 sec. for example).

Did this option disappear with CursorFX ?

Thank you for your answer.

Hello,

A few clarifications:

It was an option available in the "Plus" version of CursorXP.
Unfortunately, I couldn't find a screenshot showing the option and its checkbox.

WinCustomize describes it as follows:

Cursor vanish after idle time. This option let you auto-hide the cursor after a specified timeout period of inactivity. This is especially useful while watching a movie, typing or reading a document, and you don't want your cursor floating around the desktop.

If this is the primary concern, this is already the case - if you re watching a video, and have a CursorFX theme applied, the cursor will hide after a few seconds.

Hello sdRohan,

Thanks for the suggestion. It isn't my primary concern: I like this feature in all of the above cases.

Thanks again.

Morning, everyone,

I was riding for a few days with the trial version of CursorFX and I just bought and installed the pay version.

I was maybe hoping to find the "missing" feature but no, no luck.

However, I have a question with another feature I don't understand, please see screenshot below:

Please can you tell me?

Thank you.

Hello,

No news yet, but I see the cursor will hide itself after few seconds as usual on videos playback.

=> but I see the cursor will hide itself after few seconds as usual on videos playback.

This is also the case with standard Windows cursors.

Good Evening.

Hello,

I'm sorry if I insist.

I just don't want the cursor floating around the desktop.

Is this function that existed in the past difficult to put back in place?

Or is it now considered useless in your eyes?

Thank you for your answer.

Can you give us an example of why one would want the cursor to be absent for cases where it does not already hide automatically (videos, editing text documents, etc)?

I think it's just a personal question: Some people — like me — are bothered by a parasitic element (like the cursor in this case) on screen.
When the cursor floats on the screen, I move it away and put it in a corner so that it is no longer visible.
I'd like to avoid to move it away by myself, it would be nice if it vanishes by itself after 10 seconds, as it was the case with CursorXP that I was still using a few weeks ago.

Now it's my turn to ask a question:
Why did you take away such a convenient feature? It eats too many resources? Or something else?

A simple non-judgmental question.

If you tell me that the feature will not be reinstated, I will leave you alone, with my apologies for having bothered you.

Thank you.

Hi there !

Here is an example : I often watch 360° videos. and i use a head tracking for moving the mouse like with a headset (can't have one due to healt issue).
Unfortunatly, in the video player, the mouse is visible all the time and is not hidden when the video is played as we use it to move the view in the video. that's an example of such a feature would be useful. i saw that the only way to do it actually and which is too much complex for me to do, is to 1/ stop cursorFX + 2/ Hide the windows mouse. it seems it can be done by using a script with such a software like Autohotkey but it's really not easy. in some game where the mouse is not hdden, it would be useful too. i'm sure i can find other app where it would be useful.

Found a solution, creating a custom CursorFX, with a transparancy (png) picture. Need to switch to it in cursorFX but it's working. if mouse is needed, possible to use Powertoys to add a shortcut on the keyboard to Control + shift + C. If a need to find temporary where is a mouse is needed, the double Ctrl provided by powertoys work well too.
