I just bought the full stardock treatment but am just trying to get fences going- every time I try to create a fence it says I have to reinstall... grrrr!

Sorry to hear you are having issues. Please try the purge and reinstall steps as mentioned here : https://forums.stardock.com/486084/fences-support-faq#reinstalling
Just make sure to re-download the latest version from your account. Reboot after the purge. Reinstall using the new one you just downloaded. Reboot again after the install. Retest and report back.

Need to know more information.
1) Windows version. Please use Winver.exe for full version numbers.
2) Fences version.
3) Do you have Websense or Forcepoint installed.
