fences is so slow, flickery and glitchy

object desktop

i purchased object desktop and installed all the apps and fences is so slow, flickery and glitchy,  i have attached a video link showing the problem,

my system is not slow ,

specs:

16gb ram

core i5 6600 3.30GHz

nvidia GTX 1080

windows 10 64bit OS is running on a separate SSD

i had fences 2.0 and it was fine with the same setup , i didn't even reinstall windows i just removed old fences and installed the new one.

i am using  wallpaper engine for the animated wallpaper but fences performs the same even with wallpaper engine off and its even worse when i installed stardock's deskscapes which is supposed to be better since its from the same developer.

notice that:

1- the folder portals flicker when i unroll them , and this happens with folder portals only not normal fences.

2- the animated wallpaper flickers a little at the bottom behind the task bar when i quick hide and unhide the fences, and i'm using start 10 for the task bar BTW.

3- the translucent fences background option make the experience unbearable , slows the program even more and also it doesn't use the animated wallpaper as the translucent fences background but instead it uses the non animated  wallpaper which is hidden by the animated one right underneath it, that's why the fences colors change from transparent blue to a brighter more solid color when i try to switch between pages, cause these are the colors of the non animated wallpaper.

if this cannot be fixed can i rollback to fences 2  ?

Hello,

Sorry to hear you are having issues.

First, need to know Windows version install. Please use Winver.exe for full version numbers.

1) Is the Folder portal link to network drive or cloud drive?

2 and 3) Is it possible to test it. Just disable wallpaper engine and setup normal static wallpaper, reboot. Retest. Is the lagging issue still appear? This is just to see if the wallpaper engine is causing Fences lagging. I notice that fences background is not the same as what is set on your wallpaper. So, i think, that is a hint of the issue.

Thanks.

-windows version is 1803 (OS build 17134.765)

-no, the folder portals are all linked to local drives no network or cloud drives.

-i did say in the post that i did try it already without the animated wallpaper and the issue is still there.

*this problem didn't exist with fences 2 and i did have animated wallpaper working just fine with it, it only appeared with fences 3.

just tried the purge and the problem is still there.

the problem is in the program it self i believe cause fences 2 didn't have this problem , i think the problem is in the new features like rolling fences and the ability to explore the folder structure though folder portals, these made the program much slower, fences 2 didn't have those features and it worked great.

I am having the same problem since installing. I bought Fences 3 very excited, but the slowness is discouraging on the desktop.
I tried the purge twice, but it did not work.
I can install and downgrade to Fence 2?

My Settings: Windows 10 64bit
Core i5-4570 3.20GHz
16GB RAM
SSD Samsung 850 EVO 250GB
GPU: On CPU
