Since it wasn't mentioned, this release fixes the white background issue in the explorer tree area on WIndows 10 v1809 and higher. However, skins designed for Windows 10 before SkinStudio had settings for those colors will still experience the issue. Any of my skins still having that issue will be updated over time.
End of LightStar's quote

Could you please let me know where in the SkinStudio is the section responsible for this part of the theme?

I will do some further looking into it when I have a little more time.

Looking forward to what you find and thank you for the feedback.

Also, as far as support goes, there are far fewer free skins available now than there were when I bought the program 10 years ago, and 10 skins costs roughly as much as Assassin's Creed: Origins.

Boy, that sure is a big leap! How does Master skinners selling skins have to do with your issue, or for that matter, support?! As someone who normally doesn't use Opera, I bent over backwards to try and recreate your problem, so as to tell you what needs to be done to fix it on your end, did you give any of us a thank you, NO, you seem to continue to go on a bashing episode of Stardock and it's support, cause as of yet, no one has been able to recreate your problem. If I find something, I'll be sure to post here, and let you know, because that's who I am, always trying to help, if I can, but to say what you've said about support, is a bit unfair, in my opinion, maybe I'm wrong, if I am, I'll apologize.

I'm not having any luck with the update to 10.8. :(

I'm using Object Desktop to install. It downloads Blinds fine, but on init I get an error "Failed to open output file" and "failed self-extraction."

The truth is that you chose to inject yourself into this thread for no particular obvious reason. By your own information, you don't even use Opera. But you downloaded it and, even though you obviously can't compare a completely fresh install with an install that's been in use for years, you quickly wrote a post saying that you "wanted to see what all the hoopla" was about and that you couldn't see anything wrong. You said that everything was fine and you even included laughing emojis. You suggested there was something wrong with having "loads of extensions".Your intent was to be provocative, not helpful. You clearly have nothing useful to offer but have tended to dominate this discussion, and I suspect you do this all the time in this forum. Your intent was to tell everyone that, according to your "independent review" my concerns were a waste of everyone's time and I should just leave. As for Stardock, of which you do not appear to be a staff member, or anything else discussed here I"m entitled to my opinions and I will express whatever opinions or observations I feel are appropriate to the situation. Tough luck if you don't like it.

Say what you will, I was just trying to help, I get it, you're angry/frustrated, understandable, your demeanor towards me, doesn't change what I think about you, I believe you are a really nice person, just going through problems with Opera, I hope you can get it solved in a timely manner, have a nice day dxmc.

The settings page has an option to pick the less blurry look.

You would need to signout after setting that.

End of Neil's quote
That's right I didn't see that. The good old transparency effect is back.

By the way how about taskbar controls, is there any hope to get that fixed one day? Or is there a fix already there that I haven't seen like the blur setting?

Many thanks for your continued support of WindowBlinds! So far, version 10.8 has been working very well for me. :congrat:

Taskbar thumbnail is messed up https://streamable.com/9f0al <-- No, I'm not using classic shell, startisback or any other app.

Switched to light mode and now the thumbnail preview not even showing up https://streamable.com/ohjm9

Win8 theme bug https://streamable.com/hypiz

And another old bug which was never fixed and affecting all themes https://streamable.com/u7169 <-- breadcrumb menu missing border when opened for the first time, so to reproduce this just try to open the menu right after opening explorer.exe or simply navigate backward/forward then open the menu.

--edit--

One more bug, ribbon doesn't stay disabled

Windows 10 Pro build 1903.

When is the next update to WB being released?

You should shut this thread down because every time I see it I'm hopeful the problems like the taskbar buttons being messed up and the date/time not working properly on some skins will be fixed.

This has devolved into how Opera doesn't work right. As of November 2018 Opera usage share of web browsers was 1.56%. This is frustrating to say the least.

Hi DXMC....I've been using Stardock WindowBlinds 10  so I can have my PC  just how I like it for years. Mind you I am only a female and the males like all the dark, hard to see themes. I like the blue themes as blue is the most wonderful color on PCs. It is impossible to capture with media of any kind. Iridescent blue is what the bees see. I have been purchasing Object Desktop to get all the things I need but some times......????

Get pretty grumpy when it goes wonky. Last episode I lost my Fibre(Cable) Connection and had to fiddle around fixing it. Took me hours!!

I began learning the computer in 2000 and have been nuts about it ever since. My all time Favourite Skin is "Abracadabra "by Treetog and nothing has changed, I still love it, have the icons and taskbar in the same theme. My cursor theme is "Rise blue" and it takes a bit to get that from Wincustomize. I get the feeling that Microsoft doesn't think I should be hooked on this old theme but I am. The Start 10 is now getting easier to get sorted, but I get there in the end. Every thing I download I keep in separate back-ups in case of dramas. This has been a godsend as over the years, the programming makes horrific changes that they seem rave about but I do think that most  theme designers these days have no imagination and everyone seems to like gloomy themes.

I always check all the  windows services as they get disabled quite often. The drivers can sometimes be altered too. Windows update disturbs drivers too. Something to do with the security upgrades.

Treetog is a genious  and I'm sure no one comes close in comparison. Even the Icon theme is special.

By the way,..... I chose YouTube Music and Google Chrome which has been marvellous as the videos come up on my big TV and it is just great to go to foreign music festivals and have the sound up. I am following the war too at the moment and all the Russian gear just blows me away. Beats all the gaming videos and the Russian pilots flying the Su57 are just fantastic. All their machines, Helicopters  and Tanks are using radar and automatic loading too so its no wonder Ukraine is having such trouble.

Just thought you might want a reply........Love Jeni ...........(Sorry if I raved on a bit.)
