Unable to update

Start 10, version 1.7

from Stardock Forums

Stardock apparently provided nitce to update Start 10 to version 1.7. I am not able to update the software, as the web page that is seen with the Download button/link stalls. Clicking the download link does nothing.

When I had the first opportunity to download the upgrade when I opened Windows (turned on the computer), the download stalled after downloading 29.27 MB or within .02MB to completion. This may suggest some testing of the update process is needed. Please inform me how to download and update my Start 10 license.

I'm having the exact same issue with the exact same stopping point (.02 Mb left) on two Win10 machines, my desktop and laptop.

Desktop -

Ryzen 7 1700, 32 Gb RAM, Win10 Home x64, GeForce GTX1080

Laptop -

Acer Aspire VX (Core17, 16 Gb RAM, W10Home x64, integrated / GTX1050.)

 

Just for more data points.

Same issue with the update from Start10 with the exact same stopping download point (.02 Mb left)

But direct download works fine.

I've had this problem on 2 computers now (desktop & laptop) both running Windows 10, two days ago on the PC and today on the laptop. In both cases, directly downloading the installer from the website via a browser worked OK.

I don't think so, with the same stopping point over several days... unless the server's having a really odd issue. (And trying different times and networks, in my case.) However, yes, the direct download works. Updated both systems that way.

I have been trying all of the above and the download page with the three versions and none of them are letting me download the version 10.  And I paid and have the registration key but can't get the program ???

Problem solved. I had one email address I used for my original stardock registration and will still use it. But I paid for the upgrade with my paypal account and a different email for that.  The link that took me straight to the download was in that email.  I downloaded it and installed it and I am ok now... thanks..
