no icons for windows store apps in taskbar

After using start10 I found it very laggy and liable to crash. I also noticed that I can't see my windows store paid app icons on the taskbar anymore

I've uninstalled start10 and used the purge tool, but the taskbar cannot display icons for any paid app. If I pin one of these apps to the taskbar the blank icon gets pinned, but it becomes impossible to remove without deleting the whole app. 

 

I'm expecting at this stage that it'll mean a complete reinstall of windows.

If so it won't be the first time stardock has caused me to this, but it will be the last.

Hello,

I wonder if this is actually Start10 problem. Can you just check, Run Start10tweak.exe, should be inside your installed directory, (C:\Program Files (x86)\Stardock\Start10\Start10tweak.exe"). Click "Unload Start10 now" button and see if that missing icons return.

1) If its return, than I would suggest to use the Start10 purge and reinstall steps listed here : https://forums.stardock.com/486022/start10-support-faq#reinstalling

Just make sure to download the latest version of Start10 from your account and reboot after the installation.

2) If those icons does not return than it is clearly not Start10 causing the problem. Apparently these problem also happened to others as mentioned else where.
