Moved Desktop to New Partition, now Fences AFU

My C:  partition is solid state and almost full so I moved my desktop to a new partition on a non-solid-state drive on my Thinkpad.  It has two drives, both solid state and conventional.   Followed the instructions here:

https://www.tenforums.com/tutorials/74971-move-location-desktop-folder-windows-10-a.html

Everything is working but now all of my desktop icons have "escaped" the fences I had and my desktop is a mess.  Tried the "snapshot" option but it did not fix the issue.

Is there an easy solution for this or do I need to start all over again?  :-(

Thanks in advance for any ideas.

Hello,

Sorry to hear you are having issues. But, I don't think fences can auto locate your icons link when it actually move to a new location. Unless I mistaken, the only suggestion I can think off is to manually reorganize those fences and save snapshots as you go along.

Hi Basj,

Thanks for the input and I've been playing with this thing today and I think you are totally correct.   Lesson learned but the good news I'm finding all kinds of things I really didn't need on my desktop anyway! :-)

Have a good day,

Ed
