Scrolling fences bug report

When scrolling a fence by dragging the scroll bar with mouse left click, icons render parts that should be hidden. This isn't the only case when it happens, as i've seen this problem quite a lot with just normal wheel scrolling, also the drawing is refreshed when you pass the cursor over an icon, so that might trigger the problem as well.

Fences 3.0.9.11 through Steam.
Only one monitor, 1440p (2,560x1,440).

Scaling or any related setting are turned off (at 100% and default values).
Windows 10 Pro fully up to date, but i've been having this bug since i downloaded this program, about 1 year ago.

Well, I can't figure out what went wrong. From you limited screen shot, I can't really tell the problem. Could you give us a video capture so we can understand better.

Thank you,

Ok i took 3 screenshots. The first 2 don't have any visible bugs.
The problem is the following:
When you have a fence and you scroll with by dragging the scrollbar on the right side with your mouse (left click and move down), icons are being rendered outside of the fence, they are being rendered over another fences (in the case the one with the bug is "Temp" being rendered over "My Stuff" which extends upwards. The rendering of icons should stop within their own fence borders.
The bug is visible in step 3.
I literally painted the mouse over as windows screenshots don't capture it.

Step 1

Step 2

Step 3

I've just noticed that this only happens if you have your desktop icons to the maximum supported size, which is greater than "Extra large icons". You can reach that icons size with CTRL+mouse wheel in.

Hello,

Sorry to hear you are having issues.

This is a hard one to work with..

Do you have a saved Snapshot you can revert back too when the fences worked right ?

Does making the icons smaller work .

Ok, I think, I understand what your problem is. But I can not reproduce it on my system. One question come to mind. Is this a problem for all your fences or just on one of the fence.

Thank you,

It seems to happen on every fence (i tried creating new ones and it still does it), but it doesn't do it on portals!
Reverting to a snapshot wouldn't fix it, i always had this problem. I don't really mind i just wanted to help you fixing it. It actually happens on both fence sides, not only above like shown in the screenshots, but also below.
I've tried resizing to fence to any size and it always does it (even when it snaps at a size).

While waiting for them you can try these

Please try the following:

-For Win8/10 Users: Open the Start Screen, and type 'cmd'. Right-click on the search result and select 'Run as administrator' from below.

-For 7 Users: click Start, in the start search field type 'cmd'. Right-click on the search result and select 'Run as administrator'.

-Type: sfc /scannow

-Wait for the scan to complete (this can take several minutes)

Some help on how this looks should you need it:

https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/help/929833/use-the-system-file-checker-tool-to-repair-missing-or-corrupted-system

If the SFC finds errors, but cannot fix them, please also run the following command in the same command prompt window:

dism.exe /online /Cleanup-Image /RestoreHealth

Some help on how this looks should you need it:

https://www.windowscentral.com/how-use-dism-command-line-utility-repair-windows-10-image

The above command should assist with replacing any damaged or problematic system files. Please note, however, since it may require restoring certain files, this process can take some time and you will need to be patient until it has completed.

Please let me know whether this resolves your problem or if you have any additional questions.

Thank you,

I've had this problem for a year, during which i reinstalled fences and windows multiple times. I've been running sfc /scannow and dism for other problems and they never found any problems. It's clearly just a bug with fences.

I do not think it a bug since I cannot reproduce your problem on my system. And we do not have report of similar problem from anyone else.

I have forwarded your problem to Stardock Support team for their assistance. Please keep an eye on this thread for any updates. We appreciate your feedback and patience.

Ok, just to confirm, the problem you mentioned only happened if you push your icon to Maximum large size using the control + scroll up. And no problem if you set at normal "Extra Large icons" from right click menu.

Thank you,
