Bad Passcode Issue

I am running v3.44 KVM Build 00090. Recently I have lost the ability to connect to my MS Surface Pro from my desktop with the follow error message: "Multiplicity was able to connect to the computer, but your passcode is incorrect""

I have uninstalled and reinstalled the software.
I have run the Purge_MP.bat file on both systems.
I have verified the Passcode and encryption key on both systems.
I have searched the forums and have found several others with similar problems.
I have disabled my firewall on both systems

None of these have restored connectivity.  Any assistance would be appreciated.

Hello,

Sorry to hear you are having trouble.

I have searched the forums and have found several others with similar problems.

And you should have seen that all were resolved by various means - the most successful being the purge (something you said you have done on each):

How many PCs are you connecting to and are you connecting to them by hostname or IP (the latter being the prefered)?

I am connecting my desktop (Win10) to my MS Surface (Win10). I've tried connecting to the Surface by both IP and hostname. The forums is where I located the Purge_MP link and the other troubleshooting steps as well.

I have tried to switch Primary/Secondary computers as well, but I am still having a problem with connectivity.

Change the passcode to something simple: 1101 for example, on each PC.  Remember, there is a passcode for Audio, Seamless, and KVM depending on the use:

I've reset the passcode on the two machines, and I've received the following:

Multiplicity was able to connect to the computer, but your passcode is incorrect.

Thanks.

I've completed the clean boot, and received the same message. Multiplicity can connect to the computer but your passcode is incorrect.

You have something fundamentally wrong on at least one of the PCs....   What if you reverse what is the Primary and what is the Secondary, do you still get the same error?

While I haven't tried this since the cold boot, I had tried it previously with no success. I will try this today and let you know. I'll also test out the connectivity to other PCs today if I can get ahold of them for testing.

Thanks,

I would also like you to try with Windows Defender (and any other AV product) off.

I completed the testing last night and again this morning and there is definitely something wrong with the configuration on my primary system. I was able to successfully connect two surface pros, switching between Primary and Secondary, but whenever I brought the desktop into the mix, it would fail with the "bad passcode" error, even when I verified the code.

Thanks for helping me to troubleshoot this thoroughly. It looks like I'll be giving the desktop a good drive bleaching to clear out whatever is the problem and I'll go from there.

Thanks again.

Bleach is a great purifier ;)

Let me know how it works out.
