Hi i now i no longer can use start 10 since updating to windows 1803 and i can not install the update at all as windows (i am using windows 10 pro 64 bit) will not even run start 10

What's happening with it not running? Or if you try to reinstall?

After I installed the v 1.6 update, the left side of the menu (Win 7 or Modern styles) appears blank. I can't see the apps I pinned to the Start10 menu or the recent apps. Nothing was changed in Win 10 or Start10 configuration. My privacy setting still allows Windows to track application launches.

It seems that the content is there but I can't see it. For example, if I hover the cursor to the blank menu where I had pinned an application, the window with the recent files I used with that app pops up. If I click that location, the app starts up.

It is very annoying and I hope there's a quick fix to this.

Since My  Computer was a Brand New Computer just bought it and I started it

with V1803 before installing any programs , all seems to be working fine for me so far.

Start 10 1.6 works as it should on mine.

The problem seems to be with people trying to update an older Windows version on

a older PC to v1803 , those people  seem to be having the most issues , hummmmm

Installed under 1083 and seems to be working well.

I was doing fine until Start10 1.60. Now I can't reinstall the older trial version. I get a message that a folder can't be created. When I try to bypass error message the installation window disappears. I have a 3 year old Yoga 900.

I have just installed the latest update for Stardock 10 and it causes a printer failure. Restoring the PC (Windows 10 64 bit) to the previous state restores the printer function. Appears that update has not been tested adequately. Any comments?

Quoting LightStar,

Here's a good one for you... after installing the 1803 update, the new Start 10 release has an issue. If in the Configure area of Start 10 you select "Games" to show in the places panel, it puts the word "Desktop" there instead, and if you click "Desktop", it errors out. It has done this a 3 different PC's here. :(
also added this ,
Oh, and the install also creates a folder in C:/Users/"User Name" named "Start10Ctrlpnl" with various useless files, 721 of them, in the folder. I know they are useless because if you delete the folder, Start 10 still functions just fine. A lot of the files all begin with "AAASystemSettings_Accessibility_" or "Classic-" and they are all of a type called "Setting Content" in Windows 10.

Hello, Tom

Actually it's doing the same for me with games/shows desktop/then nothing.

I'll forwarded your report to the Stardock support team for their review and recommendations.

Please keep an eye on this thread for any updates.

We really do appreciate your feedback, thanks.

What kind of printer failure?

Start10 has no code that should in any way impact your printer.

Hi,

I could not print to my HP printer from my chrome browser , it gave a message that I could not print. When I restored to the previous state I could then print from my browser ok.

Is it possible that rebooting to uninstall Start10 resolved the issue for you and it was unrelated to Start10?

Also did your restore bring Windows back to pre the April Windows release?

I did not have a printer problem before I installed the update of start 10 . My latest windows update is 15-05-2018 .  Maybe I should try and install the start10 update again and see what happens ?  Where do I find the latest update ?

I tried downloading the start10 update but cant I get this:  the following file is in use and cannot be updated: C:\Users\public\documents\stardock\start10\round7\bottomleft.png.  Now what the hell do I do?  My start10 is gone.

You did an actual Purge , which is different than a regular uninstall

then reboot and reinstall latest version ?
