Recent Apps List Empty After Windows Update

Have you turn on "Show recently used applications'?

Yes, that setting was enabled both before and after my purge/reinstall.

And after your purge/reinstall did the list get repopulate as you using your computer and launching apps?

No, no apps have reappeared. I have tried opening a variety, but the menu is still blank. 

Than it possible that your pc have disabled the OS option to log information on recently used apps?

about 2 to 3 weeks ago, I started to have this same problem.  My recent apps list is blank like the pic above showed.  I've followed this thread, and have all the settings correct, yet the recent apps list will not populate anymore.  Any suggestions?

reboot, retest and report back.

BTW, need to be reminded, your old list of recent used apps will never comeback instantly. The list needed to be rebuild/repopulate back.
