OK , I just came up with a Fix that worked for me and should work for you.

**1st just try going to Task Manager/StartUp and make sure Fences is Enabled

then ReBoot and see If Fences starts up normal like it should , if not follow steps below.

**Take or have a good snapshot in place before Purging Fences.

Do as Island Dog said and purge Fences ( Purging does not deleted your snapshots )

https://forums.wincustomize.com/486084/fences-support-faq#reinstalling

To Re-Install Fences   ..  go to your Stardock account go to ODManager view downloads

After Re-Install click on snapshot you want and restore to snapshot  -  check Task Manager/start up .. to make sure Fences is enabled reboot and Fences it will start up normal without a Right-Click with all fences in place , worked for me .

I'm using Windows 10 - 1709

My Start Up Desktop now with NO Right-Click needed

Thanks so much guys! All working fine now  (I was on W8.1 btw)   Fences was listed twice in the startup for some reason, even though I have just the one, it was still there when I rebooted, just no rightclick, but purge and reinstall and reboot again all seems to be back to normal. Fences settings is still there twice on the startup for some reason but it has no negative effect now.  Thanks again!

I updated through Fences - it indicated an update was available. I selected download and install. It installed. It indicated the system needed to be restarted. I did so. After the restart, it indicated an update was available. I repeated this process 6 times - how do I get out of this loop?

I like the option for the folder portals in Fences. However is it possible to move the up arrow so it stays in one position. Now the arrow always jumps position when you click on it depending on the length of the folder name. This is annoying as you always need to move your mouse. See the attached screenshot.

There is the option to change the style of the folder portals to for example an  "detailed list". However when you go down one level in the folder structure it is back to the standard setting of "medium Icons" Is it not possible to set the appearance for the specific folder portal to "details Large" and that all folder including the sub folders will show in this mode.

This is my preffered way to see the folder portal, "detailed Large"

However when I go one level down it change back to "medium icons" this means I need to change the appearance for each separate folder to my preferences.

PS. I have version 3.08.1 installed.

My system just upgraded itself from Fences 2x to the newest Fences 3x. However it will not activate as it cannot get to the activation server for whatever reason. I got the Fences originally when I purchased the Object Desktop package. How can I get this new version to activate?
