Hi,

I purchased Fences 3 a few days ago.  At first it was still working right after I installed it and ran it for the first time.  It showed the default fences.  When I started making some changes to it, the fences just disappeared.  It is still enabled.  I have tried disabling and re-enabling it by unchecking/cheking the "Enable Fences" checkbox.  I have tried resetting the appearance to default in the "Color & appearance" tab.  I have tried disabling/enabling Quick-hide.  Basically, I tried all settings I could find that I think would affect its appearance on my desktop.  I have restarted my laptop several times already.  But it just does not appear!!!

As you can see here, with it enabled, I don't see anything on my desktop.  Not even any icons, that are not in any fence.  So, I cannot select any icon to be added to a new fence.

If I disable Fences, only then am I able to see my desktop icons.  But, then I couldn't create any fences now because the application is disabled.

As you can see below, I do have a valid license for Fences 3, and even the old version.  I have already activated using my new license.

Please, help me on this because as of now, the product is just useless!

Regards,
rai

I already tried that.  In fact, my desktop pages is disabled.

A while ago, I re-installed Fences 3.  After doing that and launching it, I could see the default fences again.  But, I could not interact with them.  I could neither click, nor drag them.  In fact, I couldn't interact with any of the icons in my desktop at all and my mouse appeared as a cross.  I disabled Fences and as soon as I did that, the default fences went away and I could interact with the icons on my desktop.  But, when I tried to re-enable Fences again, the default fences would not show anymore; just like before.  And I still could not create any custom fence.

It's just garbage!  I really hope this gets fixed soon or I get a refund.

So, I just tried creating a folder portal and it appeared on my desktop.  However, it is completely transparent even though I have set all fences to be opaque.  There's also no visible border or any title.  I cannot move it around or resize it (there's nothing to grab onto).

So, it seems like the fences are probably on my desktop.  It's just that they are fully transparent and I cannot interact with them!

Hello,

Please try these step.

1. Purge and Reinstall Steps as below

https://forums.stardock.com/486084/fences-support-faq#reinstalling

See if that solved it. If it still there. Please try

2. Clean Boot steps as below

https://forums.stardock.com/486084/fences-support-faq#cleanboot

this is to see if there is some conflict apps.

Try that and report again.

Purge and reinstall didn't work.  Clean boot didn't work.

After re-installing, again, I am able to see the default fences.  But, I cannot modify them.  I cannot move them.  I cannot resize them.  I cannot even add new icons into them, or remove icons from them.  And I still cannot create my own fences!

I also realized that if I click on Windows' Task View button, the fences become transparent again.  And they stay transparent unless I reinstall again.

Default, unmodifiable, fences appear when running for the first time after installation, as shown below:

They become completely transparent (and still unmodifiable) after I click Windows' Task View button:

I have already spent a lot of time troubleshooting this application.  This is not even an important program.  But I bought it because I thought it was cool and the previous version was cool.  I regret spending my money on this.

I installed the new version yesterday.  Now the Fences appear and disappear randomly.  Auto hide doesn't work.  Running W10 64 bit pro.

Hello gevansmd,

I'm on Win 10 Pro 64 too but not problem, auto hide works as I put it, after 30 sec. Maybe you can try the purge and reinstall steps

https://forums.stardock.com/486084/fences-support-faq#reinstalling

and tell us the result.

Tried the purge and reinstall.  Same problem.  Fences will not hide on command, only randomly and then they reappear  on their own.

wow... why the option is not in the program like a convenient drop down menu instead of asking users to edit Windows registry?

Maybe there was not enough language before but now with all the added languages I hope the next version will have an easy to switch language option.

How to improve a translation? Quick-hide in french have something wrong.

I use Windows 10 Home, version 1709, build 16299.192

I have Win 10 home 1709 and don't have that problem with fences

I see your video this time

Support still looking into reported issues

I can add this.  When I launch an application Fences suddenly appear before the app completely loads, then disappear after it has.

After I updated, the rightclick menu no longer has "Configure Fences" on it up top, any way to get an older version? I use the icon layout everyday so that part was really handy instead of opening the Fences program itself.
