CTRL+SHIFT+N doesn't work in fences

When I select a fence that maps to a folder and press CTRL+SHIFT+N, that folder gets created on desktop instead of inside the fence (i.e. inside the directory the fence maps to). Is there a way to make the fence intercept this keyboard shortcut instead, so that the new folder i create with that shortcut key gets created in the fence instead?
