Does anyone else find the lack of elerium crazy?

I'm playing a game at the moment where i have 0.1 income a turn and a stockpile of 2, someone else has 1 and yet the Slyne have a stockpile of 52. No one else has got any and while i think its ok to have some rare stuff but to base a whole weapon tree on it seems crazy. It's not like you can either charter missions for it or collect it from nebula's now.

It's frequency is tied to nebulae settings.

Also, increasing the frequency of other objects in relation to nebulae can decrease the frequency of nebulae and thus elerium.

I played a Tiny galaxy that had 1 promethion planet--that's it.  And guess who grabbed it first.   Not me.  This last Tiny game I played had 1 durantium.

1.Set mining resources to abundant

2.Get tech that increases how efficient your mining can be.

3.Make weapons choices on what is most abundant.

I've never seen someone go omg this mining system is GREAT!!!!!.

It's kind of bad like a 4 or 5 out of 10.

I dont seem to have a problem with elerum, or promethium, but i play ludicrous on abundant. Maybe there should be a scaling system for map sizes. Onturn 86 i have 18 elurim.

My reason why I believe promethion is precious is because scientists and admins take loads of promethion to promote.   And key starbase modules burn a lot.

You can make pretty much anything plentiful in the map settings, though.   But resources are supposed to be scarce--otherwise why have resources in the game at all?

Well that is the purpose of map settings in the first place. That is why i think certain planetary resources are hard to find i think.

But the things which depend on resources are disproportionate.   Power plants, prototype hyperdrives, and missiles burn gobs of antimatter.  Kinetic can burn gobs of durantium, but who cares--just don't build kinetic weapons.  Besides, you want starbases next to asteroids anyway.   I was never well into a game where I went, "ouch, I want to do this, but I just don't have enough elerium or thulium."

Really you should try escape into the endless. Thats part of the gameplay.

Elurium isnt plentiful, but you cant do much, but build weapons, thulium what its like next to promethium the most common.

What I think is crazy is the lack of Monsantium.  I have played dozens of games on Excessive and was lucky if I found one or two planets carrying Monsantium.  Technopods...no problem.  Monsantium, problem.  I think I've built that bonus food machine...Kim's whatever it's called maybe twice in the last 3 months because I couldn't find Monsantium.

So you think resources are rare huh? :p

Are you counting random events into your calculations?

There are events that actually spawn in more planets, anomalies, and resources.   It is infact one of the few things I consistently saw in my various playthroughs while tracking down some obnoxious bugs and whatnot.  But yea, turn up your various map settings if you want more of the resources around.  Planets too, that is why they are there.  But more importantly,  turn up the random event frequencies on that same map settings page.

Fortunately, Monsatium is just a bonus.  It lets you pack more food in fewer tiles.  Kim's Refuge is the big deal.  If you still have more monsatium after that, upgrade a few farms

Techapods is like, everything if you are Arceans.   Big difference.

Techapods and Spice have generally been my biggest issues, but on some games I get several planets with each.  It sucks to play with a tech tree requiring what you can't get, but there is a pretty good mod so you can get them from (edit)shipyard projects.
