Does Stardock Central synchronize with Component Manager in terms of software update checking?

Greetings,

I was just downloading the WindowsBlind 3.98c via Component Manager few minutes ago. Somehow, the CM asked me to switch to Stardock Central for installing the new WB.

However, after I invoked Stardock Central and checked the available software, there was no WB 3.98c listed out there.

Nor does Stardock Central display the latest available alpha/beta versions from Stardock, such as DesktopX.

Just want to make sure if this is normal for running Stardock Central.

Thanks,

David Lin

brazil,

Thanks for the reply
I did try to set up accordingly as you indicated above. However, I still could not get latest versions of software update from SD.

For instance, the current latest version of DesktopX listed on SD is 1.90(b), 2/13/2003. While CM shows that DX 1.94 is available, 3/25/2003.

Are you sure you have "View Pre-Released Versions" checked? It is under the "View" tab in SDC.With that option checked then go to Tools/Refresh Application Data. Also make sure you are using the most current version of SDC.I hope you get it working. There has also been some maintenance going on here of late,,maybe connected.

I had the same problem. make sure you have the most recent version of SDC. V0.99 is now available. But you can get V0.98 from the link in SDC news. After you've updated the most recent version of Windowblinds will appear.

David Lin, they *do not* synch. Stardock Central and CM install to two separate directories and should not be used at the same time. I advise not using CM at this point as SDCentral will be replacing it completely quite soon.

most recent SDCentral is at:

brazil, Chris, and KarmaGirl,

Thank you all for the tips.

brazil - you just hit the nail. I didn't perform the step of "Tools/Refresh Application Data" step, hence, the latest versions of the software didn't show up at all. After following your suggestion, now things are looking good

Chris and KarmaGirl - Yes, I have updated the SDC to 0.99c version.

Appreciate,

David Lin

Join the club of confusion. Well, since SDC is the new-fangled thing...I imagine that is gonna be an improvement over OD...at least...logic would seem to lean towards that anyhow.
