Automatic queing of Starbase modules to shipyard build queues gets in my way.

Is there any way to turn off the currently automatic queuing of the building of constructors for the creation of Starbase modules? The way it is done is extremely disruptive to my playing style.

Same here and would like to be able to turn the feature off.

Look in GC3GlobalDefs.xml, right at the bottom of the file:-

    <MinNumberOfQueuedModulesBeforeAutoUpgrade>2</MinNumberOfQueuedModulesBeforeAutoUpgrade>
    <MaxNumberOfAutoUpgradeModulesToQueue>2</MaxNumberOfAutoUpgradeModulesToQueue>

Set both to 0, should do the trick.

Alternately, you can uncheck "automatically order upgrades" on the sponsor screen and the starbase system will work as before.

I tried the uncheck option in reply 3, and luckily only had 14 Starbases to do it on. With an Insane size galaxy with the potential of hundreds of Starbases it is clear to me that a game wide option is needed, one that allows us to pick what the default condition is so that we can turn it on or off for individual Starbases as we desire when we desire with a minimum of fuss.

I put hundreds of starbases just around my home system

In my next insane map I plan to make a starbase  highway system which will have thousands potentially tens of thousands of starbases

Yeah the easiest way to fix this would be imo just allowing certain default shipyards to be used for starbases and be able to set that - like we set the default constructor now. It's uncommon to have all your shipyards be able to make all your mega ships so it makes sense to toss puny ones on mostly wealth or research worlds to spew out constructors with what would be otherwise wasted production (since we can't coerce it out to 100% research now ;) ) and keep our production worlds permanently starbase free.

I play Large galaxies and once again am asking for a global method to turn this off. I find it causes me more time and mousing than previously and the thin green lines everywhere don't enhance what was a beautiful screen.

1) One problem is that my SY's now queue up lousy formulators rather than the much better and 2 construction point constructors that I want to make.

2) When a formulator arrives the top item in the queue is automatically built as it should be. But when a double constructor arrives I don't have anything built from the queue automatically. I can double click as always and quickly build upgrades not in the new queue, but to manually build the item in queue I have to remove it first! This means excess and needless mousing. Most certainly I should be able to also double click on the upgrade in the queue to manually tell my constructor to build it.

I am certain that if I played enormous sizes I'd find this new auto-method more useful, but many users don't play in galaxies that size.

Thx .. neilkaz ..

As a note you can set it across your entire empire, in the starbase sponsor screen hit the little gear to the right of the option you want to set.

Yes, we added that recently so you can apply that current setting for your entire empire.

I noticed that and loved it!

To me it makes no sense to play a small galaxy.
