Anytime you take credit for work which you did not make but you are saying that you made it is called a "rip". I'm not saying it is or it isn't but when someone comments that they have seen this somewhere else it brings up the question...."is it?" I for one do not want someone taking credit for anything that I have ever made and I'm sure you wouldn't either.....so what is there to do? That's the admins job. I'm just bringing it up since WC clearly states in it's guidelines concerning this matter.

The wall has been hidden while this gets sorted................ can anyone confirm that this from Unreal II?

I'm checking on this right now.

Sorry no luck....I tried using a simple search of a few game sites that I frequent and didn't see this particular image. Maybe the easiest thing to do is ask them to provide the 3ds max file they "created" this image with and anyone who has 3ds max can verfiy that it is genuine. I have 3ds max and would be willing to do it.

this site has similar grahics etc http://mediaviewer.ign.com/ignMediaPage.jsp?channel_id=59&object_id=17386&adtag=network%3Dign%26size%3D468x60%26channel%3Dpc%26site%3Dpc_hub%26channel%3Dpreviews%26type%3Dpartnerviewer%26pagetype%3Darticle&page_title=Unreal+Tournament+2003+Hands-On similar moon image

Talked it over with DavidK, until someone can prove this is a rip it will remain on site.

I looked at a bunch of Unreal II graphics and none of it even remotely resembled this image. I'll keep looking and if anyone has a link to the same image that would (of course) help...

I have my doubts about it being a 3DSmax image, it's just too perfect in the geography (Lake Victoria for example, is exactly in the right place and the right shape). I'll check some NASA sites too...

Meanwhile Koasati is emailing the author to ask if he cheated or not...

The graphic in question i believe to be a FMV from the game, which is rarely posted onto the web. Maybe asking the individual who said it was from the game if he can somehow prove it?

How about checking with the person who uploaded the wall?

Well the author stated he made it in 3DS Max so if the question is that it doesn't look like Max then what is it? I sort of thought the same, that it looked to "perfect". Again why not just ask the author to give an admin the source file to prove it's legit?
oops... that's why I'm not Jafo and don't have spell checker's icon... just a Chief Tomatohead icon.
Next time I'll try "Bill", probably could spell that right...

David not to be sarcastic but what are the chances of the individual saying "yes hands up i cheated"?
It has to be a FMV, a moving picture hence the badly positioned black border. and the writing is still very familiar

iv been looking around and i have seen some Unreal screenies that are awfully close. Like in the way the texturing of the world is ect. Ill continue my hunt and clue u all in when i find something

Let's give it a rest and allow the admins to check it out.

Bill as we are a skinning community we like to help to keep the place straight. As G_A said a Rip is a Rip and as contributors we don't like the idea, so we all try and help

I understand Dark Mist. I have been part of the skinning community for some time. It has been brought to the attention of the admins - my suggestion was to simply wait for a period of time to allow them to check it out (i.e. Koasati sending an email and hopefully getting a reply).
