Modern apps folder empty

I tried Start10 soon after installing Windows 10 and rather enjoyed it. However, after my trial period was up I couldn't afford it right away and had to switch to another alternative. As soon as I got my salary I decided to buy a license and reinstall the software, but now I find my Modern apps folder is completely empty, even though they appear in Windows Start. After two reinstalls the problem persists.

Did you perhaps have Start8 set to hide Modern UI apps?

If so you need to allow Start10 to see them which is one via the desktop page in the config and then click the advanced button.  There is a setting on there to hide Universal apps and I suspect it is ticked.

Can you download and run the tool below:

http://sd.stardock.com/Support/supportToolTest/SDSupportTool.exe

Then attach the .zip that's created and send it in with a ticket to support:

I tried, but the ticket creation fails with:

Please try again without any attachment. Then afterwards try replying to the ticket with the .zip file. I have verified the site to be working at this time.

That worked, thanks. #VIU-384-58354

I have the same issue on two machines.

The Advanced setting determines whether the All Programs / Universal Applications folder is present.

However, if the option to hide the folder is not selected and the folder is present, the folder won't open (has no content?) so no universal apps are available via Start10.

This behavior appeared with v1.02. There was no issue with the universal apps in v1.01.

For some here that have placed tickets, you appear to be on a preview version of Windows 10 (yet to be released).  Is that the case with all of you?

I haven't submitted a ticket but that's the case for me. I was on the last build when v1.02 was released and the issue appeared and am now on 10565 and still have the issue.

I'm using the current build (10240). A ticket has been placed. (Better late than never, eh? :P )

Also the November release is coming out in ~2 weeks, so not that far off!

We are aware of the issue and it is limited to the beta preview versions of Windows 10.

This is addressed internally and the next update will resolve this.

Please note that this is nothing to do with 1.02 over 1.0/1.01, the change is an OS level change.
