[First off, I love your game. Bought it over the weekend, and I know I will be addicted to this for hours & hours of my free time to come. Very good job, excellent game!!!]
Okay, one thing that is frustrating to me (as a newbie player) is knowing how long it will take my ship to repair. It is hard to tell how long it will take in open-space, by a planet, and in a stardock. Some people have said that there are different time frames for repairing the ship. Also, some people have told me to go upgrade, and it will repair everything. [Just playing through my first map, so hard to try everything!!!]
But, I would suggest that you have a popup to tell the person how long it will take to repair in empty space, stardock, planetside, etc. Maybe it is a bar like this...
60 (now) / 120 (total HP)
Openspace: +1hp/turn = 60 turns
Planetside: +2hp/turn = 30 turns
Spacedock: +5hp/turn = 12 turns
Repair Faculty: +15/turn = 4 turns
Maybe have another stardock that specializes in repair work. And, some type of tech tree where you can either create the capability yourself or you can pay a stardock to fix your up 100% for a certain amount of money.
Problem I have been experiencing is that I hate to enter any fight because it takes my ships WAY TOO LONG TO HEAL. I am finding that it is easier to just build a new ship, which is not really (as realistic) as it should be. I mean that it looks like it is easier to change your tire on your car, get the dent pulled out, and do a little paint job on your car after a fendbender versus building an entire new car.
So, maybe an adjustment to the game or something should occur given the above idea.
