How to configure dxobjects class objects

How do you configure objects of the DesktopX class.
I have seen this in several themes. Example "CONFLICT" where there are buttons that allow you to access the configure, load theme , import object. Is this a function of a plug-in or is this scripted. Any body got a clue how you can access additional plug-ins they don't all seem to show in the add menu in the current revision.

There are two different plug-in types: SDPlugins, which are the *new* default plugins and the old school plugins. You can access this second type by holding down your control key when you click on "create new object"
