Influence / Rebellion issues

Planets rebelling while almost completely under my influence

Hi all - maybe someone's seen this as well, and can tell me what's up.

I have several recent captures that I took from one empire, which are about 12 hexes from a border with another empire. Influence is 95% mine and about 5% this other empire's, yet every turn that rebellion clock keeps winding up a tick or three.

What's up here? Am I missing something or doing something wrong? Any info would be appreciated.

If I understand correctly, you are in the process of losing planets you recently invaded, to influence.

Are the planets inside a grid? If not they are subject to rebellion. If they are in a grid and losing influence per turn they should not be showing a rebellion percentage but your grid is going to eventually collapse and then they will start to flip. I think the grid will collapse when their influence exceeds 50% or there abouts.

If you have the grid turned off you can turn it on in options to check.

Thanks for the quick reply ). Hmmm...what is "inside a grid"? They're well within my zone of influence, but I'm not familiar with the term 'grid' in this context.

If you have it turned on, (which it is by default), all your influence protected planets should be covered by a grid pattern that is shaded with your faction color. It can be annoying and can be turned off but it should be checked in situations like you describe.

Your ZOI is the grid and it might not be what you think it is if you have the grid turned off

Aha, okay - yes, I've got the grid turned on. It's all my color over these worlds, out to at least eight hexes minimum before the neighbor culture begins to dominate. Here, I'll try to load an image up for you to see what I'm talking about...

The world to the lower right is what's being highlighted. In case this doesn't display right, the URL to the image is: http://borkedcode.com/wp/?attachment_id=784

The hex immediately to the right (closer to the Iridium border) of the world highlighted shows up as 97% mine with a total score of 646.4 and 3% theirs with a 17.1 score.

Unless it has something to do with being recently invaded, this doesn't seem right. No way should the planet be 37% gone with you having 97% influence. The Iridia are strong influence but not that strong imo. I have never seen this happen. It is almost like it is going to flip to you, even though you already have the planet.

Unless someone else can explain it I would say it's a bug.

Edit: Maybe I wouldn't go so far as to call it a bug until the planets actually flip. At that point I would say bug. Maybe, it is some residual effect of the previous owners and it may go away before anything happens.

ttheobald: Your big problem is your approval/morale is ZERO. This has a huge impact on rebellion. Build/research improvements that boost this. Also what is your food relative to population? if food < pop. you take a BIG hit in approval >> build farms to fix this.

End of Franco's quote

It's not a bug, 0 approval will = rebellion XO . High approval = harder to culture flip :')

I'll check those out - it was flipped recently, and the pop did exceed the food cap for a bit, that could explain this.

Thanks!

LOL, I didn't notice approval, I have never had zero or even close, but I am a low pop player.

Still, it seems like it would show low influence effect.
