Theme Manager Issues with Third Party Visual Styles

Please Help!

StarDock Support,

I have Windows7 professional and after installing the Object Desktop and 'playing' for a while, I decided to use the new Theme Manager and find a nice theme for my workstation.  However, when applying the two builtin themes:

  • Aero Midnight
  • Gloss Mint

The visual style for the desktop goes not to the one I expected, but to the Windows basic (non-aero).  How do I fix this issue?

Regards,

TheWitness

Might want to email support@stardock.com on this and wait for a non-automated reply before inquiring again.

Theme Manager is old and hasn't been updated in years. I suggest not using it at all. Use each programs individual interface to apply each component. Theme Manager will give you HIGHLY unreliable results.

Theme Manager Issues with Third Party Visual Styles
End of quote

What exactly does that mean? Does "Third Party" mean themes not from WinCustomize, and/or not from Stardock, or do you mean you have additional software such as MSStyles on your computer?

Well, guys, I purchased Object Dock and it was an available download in the suite.  The two Themes included with the package simply did not work.  You should try for yourselves.  I'll take the first advice, and email support.

To be honest, I am a bit confused.  I thought that in an older version of DeskScapes, you could apply both the background and the visual style which you can't in version 8 oddly enough.  So, I thought this was it's replacement as opposed to something old and under-supported.

DeskScapes does not apply visual styles, never has.

You've succeeded in confusing everyone...a sure sign that you haven't explained yourself and your problem.

Perhaps you should supply screen shots of your problem, and do make sure to send a far better description of:

  1. Which app you're having a problem with.
  2. The names of whichever skins you're referring to.
  3. Your OS.
  4. All skinning software on your computer.
