Propper way to report a crash?

What is the propper way to report a crash?

When the game crashes, does it generate a crash report somewhere?

The amount of times it crashes on my is getting very annoying, and I would like to propperly report these crashes so they can be fixed.

Last time the game crashed on me, I litterally was not doing a thing, and it was my turn.  I heard the music studdering, then crash =[

Go to this post.  Click on the link there, at the bottom of that page it will tell you how to open a support ticket to report a crash, and what files to include with the ticket.

Stardock originally intended that Steam would automatically generate a crash report, but it turned out that Steam doesn't yet support that for 64 bit games.

The best first step is to read through the post "GalCivIII Support FAQ". Many causes of crashes are listed there and how to solve them. Also included are the steps for reporting issues of all kinds and what needs to be gathered and sent in the report.

So far, GC3 does not gather and automatically report crashes, so you will need to run a tool provided by Stardock (they will tell you where to get it) and open a "ticket" as described at the bottom of the post referenced above.

Also, in GalCiv III your crashes automagically get reported so we know what is causing what problems for players.  That's one of the reasons why we can put out a stability patch so much faster now than in the "old days".

Are you saying there is no longer a need to report crashes? What if we have to force a dump using Task Manager, does that also get reported via Steam? And for 64 bit addressing programs?

To update this post, crashes are not automatically sent through steam for Gal Civ 3. We really appreciate all the user reports that we get in order to help us make a more stable game. :)
