can not load object dock

Object dock is set to load on startup, but does not load.

When I manually start it up, it appears in the bottom right corner tray, and freezes up my computer for a min or so. After it comes back, the icon disapears from the bottom corner, and is not in the tray either.

I have tried uninstalling (completely), and that did not help. Restarting also did not help.

I am running Windows 7 64bit (all updated)

Any help is appreciated!

I've recently found that most problems with ObjectDock (settings menu not showing, not loading on startup, freezing, performance issues, clicking and mouse staying focused on dock whatever you do) are all related to Windows permission settings, more precisely "Running As Administrator".

For all of you having any of the issues described above, here's a possible fix.

  1. close ObjectDock
  2. make sure it's not running in the Windows Task Manager
  3. go to your ObjectDock install folder "C:\Program Files (x86)\Stardock\ObjectDock Plus", 
  4. type CTRL+F, enter "*.exe"
  5. we're interested mostly in the following items: ObjectDockUI.exe | ObjectDock.exe | ObjectDockTray.exe, and maybe a few more if you're still having issues after following all steps
  6. right click on each of the three items described above, and for each:
    1. select "Properties" from the drop down menu 
    2. select the "Compatibility" tab in the Properties window
    3. make sure "Compatibility Mode" and "Run this program as an administrator" are checked OFF
