Icons (still, but only occasionally) falling out of fences (Win 8.1)

Dear all / Stardock

 

The (very) old problem persists, albeit only occasionally: I have a fence down on the left side of my screen, and several fences across the middle of the screen, and sometimes operations on items in the middle fences, or, I think, on the general desktop, cause icons in the left fence to keep their position but drop behind their fence, or to jump to a difference fence.

Evidently this is a breakage in basic functionality and, thus, fairly serious.

Please help / help!

That never happened to me. Did you uninstall and then re-install?

 

A side note:

Because I have a touch screen I am seriously considering switching from Fences to ObjectDock. Unless Fences has a "one click" function I have yet to see, ObjecDock will do allot of the stuff Fences does and look cooler.

 

I would run both but I'm not a fan of having allot of installed software on my computer if I can avoid it.

You have Fences 2.12 installed? Are the shortcuts that are popping out shortcuts that point to something on a network location?

In my case, it is the (Windows 8) 'This PC' icon. At least mostly. I think, actually, that sometimes a top level folder on my second drive (I've two harddiscs and an SSD) falls out. (That folder is 'Y:\Software', if that helps.)

I have the following, fairly serious, problem too: when I delete an icon on the general desktop, a seemingly random icon in a fence can get seleted; that makes it easy to accidentally delete that icon too. Stardock: please help!
