upcomming DDR4 modules and subliminal thoughts

Well we are not that far away from the release off DDR4 RAM modules...
I wonder what you think and will you upgrade your system (mainboard) or will you wait until you get a completely new system?
I’m tempted to upgrade.... but I currently don’t have the money being a student.
My family comes first but if I had the money I would upgrade and build a new rig.
It’s already close to 2 years back when I build my last home PC and with the chance to double the performance things would be insanely smooth.

However I made some plans already   *_*
(If compatible with the memory)
i7 3930K with Noctua NHD14 modified to hold two 140 fans or the NHC14 that has 2*140mm Fans as standard
(depending which of the two would fit into the case)
Asus GeForce GTX 780 DC2oC in SLI or single
32 gigs of DDR4 :D
Case would be Lian li or this one Obsidian Series 350D Windowed Micro ATX ( with modified side panel)  since I like the look but if I would buy it I would like to have the branding of the front removed.
And a Mainboard there is none yet
3x SSD one for windows second for large progs and the third just to have it hehe
Oh the PSU should be dark power pro then since this rig would be totally Vader…

I don't have subliminal thoughts,........or do I?

DDR 3 is what I have. DDR 4 would be cool. Doubt my Mobo could handle it.

Nah, my understanding is it will be a different set of pins.

Switch out an "almost" 2 year old motherboard and RAM to speed up the RAM from 1333 or 1600 to (presumably at first) 2133?  Doesn't seem worth it to me, even if the processor carries over.  Probably better off to wait a couple more years, get a few more advances, and start all over again.  "Build 'em good, then drive 'em 'till they drop."

Correct it would require a new motherboard that’s the main reason for my thoughts about a new rig.

:D yeah im quite happy with my rig also and I’m sure that the timings won’t be great for the first sticks but they will hold 8 gig each and that is amazing in itself , but i doubt that you will be able to overclock em since the pictures look like SDRAM.

I'm sorry, but why is holding 8GB per stick so amazing? You know you can get DDR3 to come in 8GB sizes right?

yes i know, meanwhile you get them as 8gig sticks but the first generation was 8gig kits.. 2x4gigs
to have 8 gigs from the start will be great since i doubt that you will need more than 16gigs for quite some time the only thing that matters would be the price...
