getting a horse for my Champion, how?

My faction creates horses I have 12 in stock yet the only way I can seem to be able to get a horse for my champion is from the store for 200 gildars.

Is that intended or am I missing something?

you gotta buy it for a champion. horse resources are for trained troops on horseback, or a trading commodity.

Thank you kindly

You can have a Pony (+3 to speed, btw) or some other mounts from quests. You can train mounted henchmen and take everything from them.

Try beat an AI faction to surrender. Then you don't only get one horse from their sovereign but many wargs too. I mean sometimes really many.

When my sov trades with Henchmen I sometimes see duplicate weapons and equipment but never a mount. I think they fixed that bug.

I believe you need to research the according technology before they pop up in the store.

If you're itching for a horse or warg and don't have the tech, go to another faction that has the tech, and buy it from their shop (you must not be at war with them).

I've heard rumors that if you're willing to mod the game, you can get a dragon mount...

Also, Darkling Camps occasionally have a Warg mount available as loot when you clear them. It's kind of rare, though.
