Can't open files in folders

Hi folks, I have a problem you might be able to help me with.  I made a folder and added that folder to my Object Dock.  Then I added some shortcuts to that folder.  None of them work.  The short cuts go to this folder:

"C:\Program Files\Microsoft Office 15\root\office15\WINPROJ.EXE"

But when I run Object Dock it says that this path:

"C:\Program Files (x86)\Microsoft Office 15\root\office15\WINPROJ.EXE"

does not exist.  Why would it change the path?  Is there a way to fix it?

Thanks!

Just right click on the shortcut in the folder and select Properties on the menu list and then change the information to the correct link.

Uh, Maybe I didn't explain it well enough.  The shortcut works fine when I open the folder with ObjectDock, then click on the shortcut.  The problem is that I have the folder set to "Show folder in menu" in ObjectDock.  When I click on it, I can see my shortcuts, but all of their icons are incorrect.  When I click on it, I get the message from my original post.

So the shortcut works fine when not accessed THROUGH the dock, but doesn't when I use it on the dock.

I just got a new PC and none of my folders set up this way work.  On my old PC I only had this problem on one file.  I never could figure out why, but now none work.

Try this.

Delete your existing shortcuts

Go to C:\Program Files (x86)\Microsoft Office 15\root\office15\WINPROJ.EXE in Windows Explorer

Drag the icon from there into your dock/.

Works?

That's just it, there is no file there, in fact, that location doesn't even exist.  The shortcut doesn't even point there so why does StarDock want to look there?  FYI, I have all my hidden folders set to view, just checked to make sure, so that is not the case either.

I don't think that I just want to move or copy the original application file because then it may not update correctly and having the same file in two locations is just asking for trouble.

You can't drag files onto a folder in your dock, can you?  When I try I get a new dock Icon.

I have been using the dock this way for years.  I don't understand why a few programs would have this problem.  If I take the shortcut from my StarDock Office Folder that I made and put it directly on the dock, it changes the icon to a windows default but opens the program, but than I have 7 icons rather than the one office one I was looking for.

Weird?

Office has always been weird.  We just accept it and try to work with it as best we can.

Nice.  The only program that didn't work on my last PC was Photoshop.
