Desktop icons and folders umoveable

from Stardock Forums

Like several others, I can't move icons or folders on my desktop.

This is under the following conditions:

Win 8.1

Fences public

Fences 2.01

Fences 2.10

No other Stardock software installed.

Can't drag icons/folders to the trash. 

Can't drag icons/folders to other icons/folders/Fences.

Can't drag icons/folders from Fences.

Tried changing ALL Fences settings, Align icons to Grid, Auto Arrange icons.

I used Fences public, Fences 2.01 and Fences 2.10 under Win 8 with no problem.  When I upgraded to Win 8.1 Preview, I could not move icons.

Unfortunately you can count me in. Other suggestions of uninstalling DeskScapes didn't do anything.

So it seems we'll have to wait for fitting StarDock-Updates.

Thanks in advance, I love all these customizing features, it makes Windows my Windows.

Put me in this same group..  

 Fences 2.10 does not work, I can not drag or move folders, files or fences.

My issue seemed to come when I installed WIndowBlinds.   I'm not sure of that, but I noticed it after I installed WindowBlinds.

I still have Windows 8, not 8.1.

I had the same problem but I figured it out. I could move my icons but suddenly I couldn't move my fences to another screen. I have the trial version of Fences only. I don't have any of the other programs from Stardock.

It was working fine until I was customizing some of the settings. I tried a few things and did a disk clean. Eventually, I figured out that when I unchecked "If hidden, unhide my desktop icons when switching pages".

Immediately I could move my fences.

P.S. Can you change the color of the icons font? or remove it? I want to put a fence at the top of the screens with icon letters spelling

without having font underneath it.

Updating to version 2.11 of Fences solved the cant't move icons after 8.1 upgrade problem
