Unable to Correctly Maximize

Using Win8 WB8

Couldn't find anything recent on something like this.  Regardless of the skin I use, my explorer windows will not maximize correctly.  I'm not talking about Internet Explorer, but just explorer (used to browse folders, etc...).   Attached is an image of what it is doing when I try to maximize.

Furthermore, when it does that, nothing is clickable, and click dragging anywhere on the screen will remove the window's maximized status and return it to whatever size it was previously.

I checked to make sure this is not a ModernMix issue or something related, and the issue is reproduceable for me when i switch between default theme and any other WB8 theme.

This error occurs regardless of which screen i try to do it in

Are you saying that when you maximize all the window content stops showing?

yes, as you can see the content still 'appears' but it's not selectable, which to me mean's it's a ghost image, not the actual content.

so imagine that you click the maximize button, the window you tried to maximize doesn't really move anywhere, but behind it a giant box fills the screen (as the image above shows).  that small window in the front isn't a separate window, it's the same window that is trying to maximize, so what you are seeing in that image is one single windows explorer window.

it keeps the previous window, but then adds another maximized window that fills the background.

as another forum post noted, this may be in relation to another issue of having multiple monitors stacked and the windows explorer window not being selectable in the top two monitors, unless the primary is set to the top windows.
