WindowBlinds8 & Photoshop [BUG]

WindowBlinds8 & Photoshop [BUG]

Bug

Hello,

I have an anoying bug:

1- If I run photoshop using skin on it: I have an horizontal offset (to the left) when using the color selector (for example). So I tried over skins and the conclusion is that the amount of the offset is related to the width of the perpixel side frame.

2- Then, I tried excluding photoshop skining in WB8 options, And in this case I have not the offset problem BUT I have no image displayed !! (my image only appears in the navigation preview area (at top right)).

Anyone else confirm that ?

regards.

I am pleased to say the issue with Photoshop and needing to move some windows to fix an offset issue is resolved internally, so the next update will contain a fix for this.

Excellent news :-)

I do have another issue though and that's if I use the shadows the top left corner of internet explorer does not allow resize...

Well this doesn't work for me. When I exclude it and open a psd file I see no graphics. If I move the window I see them but as soon as I move the window and let go of the mouse the psd file is blank with no graphic showing.

Wow. You're on W7, Dave? Maybe check WB8 settings to see of Photoshop.exe is really there.

Doc, I have windows 7 and 8. Please see my reply #16

I have WB 8 and SKS 8 latest versions on both.

I didn't have PS on my win 8 so I installed it and had the problems. first thought maybe it was because win 8 didn't like PS. So that I didn't have to keep logging off and on between win7 - 8 I decided to upgrade to WB 8 and SKS8 on my win 7. As soon as I saw I have the PS problem on 7 I knoew it had to be something with WB8 or SKS8.

BTW: I did uninstall WB7 and SKS7 before installing the latest 8 versions of both.

Hopefully the next update will correct the problem.

Missed that. Sorry, Dave.

Has anyone checked Adobe's Forums?

I found this: http://helpx.adobe.com/photoshop/kb/image-background-transparent-or-flickers.html

"I recommend that customers make sure they have the lastest drivers from either AMD or nVidia. If you still have problems with the latest drivers, try setting the Advanced Settings for OpenGL Drawing/Graphic Card Processing in the Photoshop’s Preferences>Performance… dialog so that Drawing Mode is set to “Basic.”"

So, the problem might be related to the video card drivers which W8 has (being outdated). Maybe  updating the drivers might fix the problem?

Maybe the drivers W8 shipped with are screwing up Ps.

I did check that actually Doc. My problem started without a doubt as soon as I installed WB8 and SKS8.

Neil has said above he fixed the PS problem and sure he must have seen my post. So hopefully when it's released it will be fine. Thanks BTW for pointing out the Adobe site. I usually do the the software and driver requirements if I run into a problem. However getting as old as I am I may forget so a reminder is always welcome.

Note: I will consider it harassment if you comment on my last sentence.

I hope this update is soon this week.

I can't work in PS unless I have a win aero WB applied. Than if skinstudio is open when I switch from the WB I'm working on to aero I have to close Sks and open it again as it won't work. Doesn't matter if I'm on win7 or win8.

I am also having problems with Photoshop and WindowBlinds8 (Windows 8). I have the problem described above where I have to move the various selection windows a bit before I can do anything like pick a color or adjust a slider. I'm also getting this on all boxes with check boxes:

Mind you this is with Photoshop.exe totally excluded from WindowBlinds. The only way I can get Photoshop to behave normally again is by completely exiting WindowBlinds. Hopefully the next update will fix my issues. Can anyone confirm what version number the fix is applied to?

Version 8.01 has up to this point fixed my issue with PS 6.

I'm thinking your situation may be the WB you are using. However it may do it on any WB you use. I just don't have that problem and that was never the problem I had.

I was reporting the same issue with the selection boxes that many other people reported, plus the checkbox issue I'm having. I wasn't attempting to suggest it was the same as your issue? *confused*

This was the update I was inquiring about, since the needing to move windows to fix the offset issue is the one I'm having. If 8.01 is the fix I'll install that. Apparently that's a beta version, and I had beta updates turned off in my Stardock Central so I never saw it.

I'm pretty sure it's a WindowBlinds issue as opposed to a skin issue, as I've tried like 25 different skins to see if it was a skin issue and no dice. As I said before, only turning WindowBlinds off fixed it and given that they issued a fix for it, that probably means it was WindowBlinds bug.
