Ahhh so that's why.   Suddenly I can't see crap again.    Nasty bug rears its evil head.

You should be able to use AA, just need to take it out of adaptive mode in the ATI CCC.

What do you mean by that, kryo?

In my ATI/CCC, concerning AA, all I could find are the options to "Use the application settings" or "Override applications settings", my setting being the default "Use".

My ATI card does not experience any graphical issue with FE/LE, but this thread has me wondering if my AA-8X selection is effectively operational.

(Off-topic addendum. To make FE and FE/LE look good, according to my visual tastes, I had to tinker with the many parameters offered in the ATI/CCC, parameters located at 'Desktop Management/Desktop Color and at 'My VGA Displays/Display color (VGA Display)'. I recommend that ATI-videocard users launch their CCC, and when located in-game, alt-tab it over to experiment with various settings, according to their personal tastes. FE and FE/LE look much better when one tinkers with the ATI/ CCC settings located in the two tabs I have indicated.)

I haven't used an ATI card personally in years so I can't really be more specific than that, sorry. If it's working for you though, it's already in multisample or standard (non-adaptive) supersample mode.

I am the one who must be sorry, krio. The answer I was seeking was very obvious, but since I checked the ATI/CCC in the evening, my tired eyes did not perceive the obvious : the answer was on line 4, whereas I only looked at lines 1 and 2.

Since other ATI-videocard users seem to experience the type of AA problem described in this thread's OP, as I saw on another recent thread, allow me to give the detailed steps to follow :

1. Launch the Catalyst Control Center program (= CCC.exe) ;

2. Go down to "Gaming/3D Application Settings" ;

3. To the right, on line 4, at "Anti-Aliasing Method", click on the "Multisampling" option (in the drop-down menu).

In my case, it was already set at Multisampling : that's why I had experienced no graphical issue whatsoever with my Radeon HD card, when using 8x AA.
