Safe Mode and Start8. . .

Hi there,

Tonight I just discovered that Start8 will not start in Windows Safe Mode; however I was able to start and use IObit's Start Menu 8 in Safe Mode.

Request: Please, will you work your magic so that if a person boots into Safe Mode, Start8 can be there to greet him or her.

Thanks in advance.

regards,

Laurence

Generally all software that auto starts should not start in Safe mode.  This allows a user to recover from a worst case scenario of the product itself causing crashes.

This is why Start8 does not automatically launch in safe mode and this is the same with all our software.

Hi Neil,

I understand. However IObit's Start Menu 8 does not auto-start in Safe Mode either (and its Service is also stopped). Nonetheless, I am able to click on its shortcut from the desktop or from within its folder and manually start it that way and it works as usual (yet its Service still does not show as having started).

So, this led me to ask if Start8 could achieve something similar. (As noted above.)

And the reason I ask is this: just like Start8 makes moving around and finding and starting programs one wants much easier in Win8's traditional Desktop normal mode of operation, it would also do the same for Windows 8 Safe Mode.

If you will, please consider this request. And if not as a default feature of Start8, then perhaps as an optional setting per user choice.

Laurence
