1.1, 'Runtime Error' and explorer crashes on search

This has happened 3 times in the past week, I don't have a screenshot but sometimes when I search in the start8 search box, I get a Runtime Error and explorer crashes, and it loads the metro interface and I have to open the 'desktop' back up. I don't know if it matters, but I do have the .net framework 4.5. It seems to be random, I mean I was typing 'Lord of the rings' in the search box and it crashed a few minutes ago, but now it works just fine.

Could you check your event log to see if there are any entries around when you had the crash.

The .net framework isn't used by Start8 so thats not a factor.

I received this crash as well. It's random, so it doesn't happen every time.

We were able to reproduce a crash though it took a great deal of seaches to trigger it here (500+ rapidly done) and have made changes which may help.

The upcoming 1.12 update should contain this change.

Well here's to hoping that it fixes once and for all the explorer.exe related crashes/restarts, because I had uninstalled Start8 due to re-occuring freeze-ups and explorer.exe crashes/restarts. :-(

Looking forward to the forthcoming update.

regards,

Laurence
