Multiplicity Stops Working with Uncharted Waters Online

Greetings,

I purchased Multiplicity 2.0 in November and have been pleasantly impressed.  It has surpassed my expectations and blown Input Director out of the water in my opinion.

However, I reached my first snag with it.  I like to run games and other applications on three laptops while doing my main computing on my desktop (which acts as the main computer in multiplicity with the laptops as secondaries).  However, when I run Uncharted Waters Online on one of the laptops, as soon as the executable for the game runs, Multiplicity completely locks up and ceases to work on that laptop until I close the game with the laptop's built in touch mouse.

A service boots up when I launch the game, called nProtect GameMon Rev 1819, but if I alt tab the game I can use Multiplicity like normal, leading me to believe that this service isn't what is blocking Multiplicity from functioning correctly.  As soon as I set focus to the game again, however, Multiplicity ceases to function.  It is truly odd behavior.

If anyone has any suggestions as to what I might be able to do to go about debugging this issue, I surely would appreciate it.

Thanks for your time and have yourself a great day!

It sounds like the nProtect GameMon prevents injected mouse inputs.  Some cheats would inject input.

Any input from Multiplicity would be seen as injected by the tool and so it blocks it.  Thats why it works when alt tabbed as the game no longer has focus so it doesn't care about injected input.

That is a sound theory, I didn't think about that while it was alt tabbed.  Unfortunately, even in windowed mode that'd still be the case then.  I would love to consider a work around but then the game host might count that as cheating.

Oh well I suppose.  Would the nature of Multiplicity cause the same affect if I ran this game exclusively on my desktop (primary computer)?  I would wager it would work then but it's worth asking as I can only speculate without testing it myself.

Thanks again!

On the primary it would probably work.

This was indeed the culprit in my case.
