And why didn't he start his own thread, since his problem is different from that of the OP, and doesn't even reflect the thread's title?  It's easy to get overlooked if you attach your complaint to someone else's--and that much more likely, if it's a different complaint, entirely.

But my original comment WAS in regards to the opening post.  Anyway, SDC got it sorted, and no I don't have bad RAM.

Off to play.  :)

Edit:  And I'd still prefer a nice Steam key.  But I'll take what I got.

Stuie, I'm glad it worked out for you, but the OP first wrote:

Your first remark was:

File is corrupt.  Wonderful.  3.5gb of useless.

Would have been nice to get Steam keys but oh well.
End of quote

The OP has no interest in Stardock's download service, but only wants a Steam key.  You've had corrupt downloads, and thought it would be useful to have a Steam key, but were willing to try and work things through.  With respect, those aren't about the same thing.

But in any case, I'm pleased you got things up and running.  Remember, if you have questions about the game contents, there are usually some of us hanging around at all hours.  Best of luck. :)

May I ask why didn't you make it a steamwork title? It seems like the Steam workshop would have been amazing for this game. Just wondering, thats all.

Quoting seanw3, reply 10What other companies are giving a free game to 100,000 people that purchased it from a totally different source?

Taleworlds? Cyanide? Creative Assembly? Bethesda? Rockstar?

Stardock is pretty much the only company to do this.

Seriously?  All those other companies gave away a free game through Steam to people who had bought an earlier game directly from the developer?  Strange that I've never heard about this.

Check out stardock central. It automatically will check and download updates for you from stardock.

I guess your right this company has 0 commitment for it's customers... People per-purchased E:WoM and got Fallen Enchantress for free as well as the first expansion pack. Sure E:WoM was buggy and didn't have the greatest launch, but what did the people who pre-purchased Legends of Pegasus get? If you really want the game on Steam so badly, then buy it on Steam.

(Edit to my post) Quick edit to my post about Taleworlds underneath i mixed up Taleworlds with telltalegames the below was actully about telltalegames i don't know of Taleworlds ever giveing a free verion of there game out, but i'll leave what i put even know i mixed the two comanys up sorry :S (end of edit)

Taleworlds gave Walking Dead free again because there messed up the launch date so we can play since there own site was haveing prombles at the time as a good will jester once more since people who payed for teh game would not be complaning any more since there be playing the steam version after all. So again becasue the comapny messed up. The other companys i don't have a clue about the only thing i can think is there steam embled games to begin with like Shogun 2 and skyrim

But Stardock gave us FE for free any way who cares if it is not a steam game really i liked the old Elemental before FE even came out just wished there sorted muitplayer out apart from that i enjoryed it know FE is out and i get it for free, amazing :D I've seen how much the new game has improved and makes the old one look like rubish when compared with it lol

and stardock has not messed up with this launch like the above companys did so why should there have to give out even more free version of the game as in the steam keys?

Quoting parrottmath, reply 8If you want the game on steam click on games and then add-non-steam game to you library. The only thing is that you must download your patches from stardock.

Which is specially what shows the 0 comitment from stardock sicne you have to manually download and isntall patches. really terrible company..

You're complaining about having to manually download and install patches? How old are you?
