Quick search - results order

When using the quick search bar of the start menu, for some reason the Uninstall shortcuts appears as the first results, for every program.

Is it possible to disable uninstall shortcuts from the quick-search result? Or at least make it show at the bottom of the results?

It already made me uninstall a couple of applications unintentionally.

I have the same problem. Windows 7 search prioritized results very well. It knew when I wanted a document, setting, or program.

Now when I type something like 'Vegas' in Start8, the Sony Vegas Pro ReadMe shows up before the actual program. I would really like a smarter prioritization in Start8 search results; this is something that made the W7 start menu so much more usable.

This has been tweaked for the next update which should help this.

Regarding search result order.. I'd still like to see a tweak to result order.  Two tweaks really..  I just re-tested this with Start8 1.0.

When searching for a program, the results seem to be in reverse order from what they would be in windows 7?

This may be related to some hinting they have in their results mechanism.. and if that's the case, it's probably related to the second part of this request:

If an exe file exists with the exact title you typed, make it the first result.

Here are my examples:

Searching for 'putty' which has a start menu entry, but is also exactly 'putty.exe':

Win7, the way I want it: (Also, win8 seems to give similar results by default in the start screen)

Start8:

And then the exact exe name hinting/searching.. this is what allowed me to switch to start menu searching instead of win+r run prompt (And yes, I can still win+r, but win+r doesn't allow me to automatically prompt for UAC elevation with ctrl-shift-enter the way start menu/start8 searching does):

Windows 8 start screen (identical behavior to win7):

Note the 'command prompt' is the built in cmd.exe shortcut that exists in: %AppData%\Microsoft\Windows\Start Menu\Programs\System Tools, but the shortcut points to a file that's full filename is 'cmd.exe' with no arguments.. which I think is how the hinting works.. that way if you're treating the start menu search like the run prompt, it will behave the same.  "CMD Shell" on the other hand is a link to a .cmd batch file that pre-configures some environment for Visual Studio

And this is what start8 gives me:

For some reason, it doesn't even list the 'command prompt' shortcut when I search for 'cmd'.  It does if I search for 'command' (but then it's on the bottom, since I have a bunch of shortcuts to various special 'command' prompts in my start menu).

In any case, this is minor, and I bought start8 today despite this change in behavior compared to what I'm used to.

However, I hope this is doable for a future update. ;)

Thanks for a good looking product.
