I can't replicate this in Vanilla Rebellion.

I started up a quick 1v1 as Advent (Fast game speed) on a large map and I got up to 6 unconnected wells with trade ports with the income rate per trade port reported as 1.3/trade port all game.

When I connected trade ports the trade bonus I got scaled with the number of edges in the "trade chain", at 0.1/edge.

Can you post a link to your save and/or try to replicate this without any mods?

Here is the mod as well as the save (the saves are inside the mod to simplify the download)...

Some things to keep in mind:

  • Currently, the per node bonus is .1 (or 10%)...
  • The game speed is normal...this has been modded to have an income rate of 1.0 (vanilla normal is at 1.15), so the gamespeed should not in any way affect the base income (which is 1.0 for a trade port)...
  • All planets (not asteroids) have a required planet bonus that increases trade income by 100%...therefore, I'd pay particular attention to Naeve, one of the asteroids on the edge of the map that is right next to my original HW (I moved my capital)...
  • I have no research or pacts that increase trade income....
  • My ally has some envoys that do give occasional boosts to trade, so take those into account or clear the buff...running the game a little bit on 8x will clear some of them from the save point...
  • I do have one SB with trade ports on it...

This is what I'm seeing...Naeve (which has one trade port) has a trade income of 2.1 when no envoy bonus is applied...this implies a bonus of 110% (and coincidentally I have 11 planets with trade ports)...my longest trade route has 7 nodes or 6 links (however you want to think of it) so the bonus (to my understanding) should be 60%...

One other consideration...my allies' longest trade route has 6 nodes or 5 links, which should yield a 50% bonus...if, for some strange reason, the game added both my bonus and that of my ally, I guess that would also give 110%...

I am busy but if I get a chance I'll try out stuff in vanilla or toy with my save...for now all I can do is post the files...

Thanks for posting the stuff.

I'll have a poke at it and see what I can figure out.

Honestly sometimes I have more fun hunting down problems like this than actually playing for real... ;^_^

Just went into the vanilla using the dev.exe and I think I've nailed down the problem....

The game adds your trade length to that of all your allies...so if you have a trade length of 6 and your ally has a length of 5, your bonus reflects that of having a bonus with 11...

I am not aware of this "feature" being documented anywhere....
